how to reach us

There are various way to reach Arugam Bay: the easiest and quickest by taxi van; the cheapest by bus;

 the longest but most interesting by train, Batticaloa being the nearest train station.  For short distances we suggest the bus, for longer trips, a taxi van is more comfortable and flexible.

You can take surf boards on the bus, but not long boards.

Most buses will terminate in Pottuvil, 4km north of Arugam Bay; If you get off at Pottuvil you need to get a tuk tuk to Arugam Bay; if the bus terminates in Panama ask to be dropped off by the water tower in Arugam Bay.

50m after the water tower turn left into a little road in the middle of a field (or wetlands if its rainy season); we are at the end of the little road, behind the blue house.  You can't miss us.

WARNING: upon arrival at the bus terminal in Pottuvil , tuk tuk touts will jump on the bus to lure you into their tuk tuk for crazy rupees!! ... and they will also to try to take you to go to a different guesthouse.

If traveling by tuk tuk or van from Pottuvil head south; drive over the Pottuvil bridge and continue driving through the entire Arugam Bay village; As you approach Buddha Junction, stay on the main road turning right; continue until you see the big mushroom shaped water tower.  50m after the water tower turn left into a little road in the middle of a field (or wetlands if its rainy season); we are at the end of the little road, behind the blue house.  You can't miss us.
